Manisa Police Impose 147,000 TL Fine on Motorcycle Rider Who Fled
Police in the Kula district of Manisa, Turkey, stepped up traffic checks as summer brought an increase in motorcycle use. During a routine inspection near the Leblebiciler residential area, officers warned a rider to stop. The rider ignored the "stop" order and attempted to flee.
The police quickly pursued and recaptured the motorcyclist. An inspection revealed numerous traffic violations, leading to administrative fines totaling 147,000 Turkish lira: 80,000 TL under article 36/3‑A‑2, 46,000 TL under article 23/4‑1, 5,000 TL under article 32/3‑A, 16,000 TL under article 32/3‑B, and 2,719 TL under article 34/A. The motorcycle was banned from traffic for 30 days and towed to a depot, and legal proceedings were opened against the driver. Local police emphasized that such enforcement actions aim to protect public safety and urged motorists to obey traffic rules.
