Manisa Water Agency Reaches 99% Chlorination Success and Begins River Clean‑up
The Manisa Su ve Kanalizasyon İdaresi (MASKİ) reported that its chlorination and disinfection programme, operating across 17 districts with 17 vehicles and 34 staff, achieved a 99 % success rate in 2026, placing the province among Turkey’s most successful regions for drinking‑water safety. Continuous monitoring, automatic dosing systems and real‑time digital reporting were highlighted as key factors.
In parallel, MASKİ’s Environment Protection and Control Department launched a comprehensive cleaning operation on the city’s streams and irrigation channels, including the Bozköy, Safran, Akmescit and Tabak creeks as well as DSİ canals in the Barbaros and Kuşlubahçe neighbourhoods. Officials said the work aims to eliminate foul odors, improve water flow and protect public health, with the Atatürk Kent Park creek segment expected to be finished within three to four days.
Both initiatives are part of the municipality’s effort to enhance water quality and environmental standards for Manisa residents.
