Manisa water authority renews Karakılıçlı neighborhood pipeline
The Manisa Water and Sewerage Administration (MASKİ) began replacing a 1.9‑kilometre drinking‑water transmission line in Karakılıçlı Mahallesi, Yunusemre district. The aging pipe suffered frequent ruptures, with repairs needed up to four or five times a day, leading to repeated water outages for residents and local businesses.
MASKİ field chief Emre Güngörmez said the new modern infrastructure will eliminate water loss and restore continuous, safe drinking water. Neighborhood mayor İhsan Öktem and residents echoed the relief, noting that the old line caused regular floods and water shortages. The project is expected to finish soon, ending the long‑standing disruptions.
