Manizales honors educators and librarians for promoting literacy

During the 17th Manizales Book Fair, the ‘Tejedores de Alas’ initiative recognized teachers, librarians, and reading managers for their commitment to fostering literacy among children and youth. The awards highlight the role of these professionals in using books to develop creativity, critical thinking, and academic performance.

Andrés Felipe Betancourt López, the Secretary of Education of Manizales, noted that reading serves as a tool for personal and professional development, providing access to knowledge and expanding intellectual horizons beyond mere academic achievement.
