Manoj Jarange Patil enters 14th day of hunger strike over Maratha quota
Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange Patil has entered his 14th consecutive day of an indefinite hunger strike in Antarwali Sarati, located in the Jalna district of Maharashtra. The protest is centered on 15 demands related to Maratha community reservations, including improved educational and employment opportunities.
Abhijit Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), met with Jarange to express support for the agitation. Dipke urged the Maharashtra state government to initiate a dialogue with the activist to address his demands and warned against any attempts to forcibly remove him from the protest site, suggesting such actions could lead to widespread consequences across the state.
Jarange has indicated plans to march to Mumbai to increase pressure on the government. He intends to consult with representatives of the Maratha community to finalize the date for this proposed demonstration.
