Manoj Sinha directs expansion of Red Cross services in Jammu and Kashmir

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has directed officials to strengthen the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) network in Jammu and Kashmir. During the IRCS Annual General Meeting, Sinha instructed Deputy Commissioners to intensify resource mobilisation and develop innovative funding methods to support humanitarian and welfare activities.

To improve accessibility, Sinha called for expanding services into remote and border regions, suggesting the establishment of diagnostic centres in areas where residents face long travel distances for healthcare. He also emphasized the need for coordinated grassroots efforts to achieve the complete elimination of tuberculosis through early identification, diagnosis, and treatment.

Additionally, the Lieutenant Governor urged the Red Cross Society to bolster its anti-drug campaign to support the goal of a drug-free Jammu and Kashmir.
