Manosphere influence drives Gen Z toward traditionalism and exploitation
A growing phenomenon known as the ‘manosphere’ is influencing young men across the globe, often leading them toward extremist views and financial exploitation. Research indicates that Gen Z males are increasingly adopting traditionalist views regarding marriage and gender roles compared to older generations.
According to an Ipsos study conducted across 29 countries, including the US, UK, Brazil, Australia, and India, one in three Gen Z men believes the husband should have the final say in important decisions. This shift is linked to online communities that promote specific versions of masculinity.
A report by Equimundo highlights that this manufactured version of ‘manhood’ has become a multibillion-dollar industry. Young men are being funneled into paid communities, unregulated dietary supplements, cryptocurrency scams, and expensive ‘coaching’ programs, effectively exploiting their search for identity.
