Mansour Faye calls for dissolution of Senegal's National Assembly

Mansour Faye, a former Transport Minister and prominent figure of the Alliance pour la République (APR), has called for the immediate dissolution of Senegal’s National Assembly. In a recent critique of the current Pastef administration, Faye described the nation as facing a “governance crisis” and a period of political instability.

Faye accused the government of prioritizing social rupture over national unity, claiming that current leadership is fostering division and undermining republican values. He also raised alarms regarding Senegal’s economic trajectory, citing high public debt, declining investor confidence, and a reduction in household purchasing power.

While acknowledging the public's demand for accountability, Faye argued that judicial efforts to recover illicitly acquired assets should not paralyze public administration or delay essential economic actions. He urged President Bassirou Diomaye Faye to take decisive action to resolve the current political impasse.
