Mansukh Mandaviya leads India's Fit India Sunday on Cycle campaign
On July 19, 2024, Labour, Employment and Youth Programme and Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya took part in the 82nd "Fit India Sunday on Cycle" event, cycling alongside participants at more than 15,000 locations across India. The campaign, linked to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Fit India movement, aimed to encourage citizens to adopt regular cycling for health, pollution reduction, fuel savings and overall fitness. It was coordinated with thousands of Ayushman Bharat health centres and involved local administration and the Sports Authority of India. Organisers said the initiative seeks to combat rising obesity and promote a zero‑carbon lifestyle nationwide.
