Manta celebrates 104 years of cantonization with music and tradition

The city of Manta is preparing to celebrate its 104th anniversary of cantonization with a diverse agenda featuring music, gastronomy, and civic events. Key festivities include the Festival de la Colada Morada on November 2 at the General Cemetery and the Mariana Fest at El Murciélago beach.

Musical performances are scheduled across various sectors, including San Mateo, Santa Marianita, Ligüiqui, Tarqui, and San Lorenzo. Major concerts featuring artists such as Tranzas, AU-D, Maykel, and Don Medardo y sus Players will take place at El Murciélago beach and other public spaces.

Additionally, the celebrations include the election of the Reina de Manta 2026 on November 1 at the Megaparque theater. Ten candidates will compete for the title, with the event hosted by Shyare Andrade, Miss Grand Ecuador 2026. Local civic acts are set for November 4, with a local mandatory rest day moved to Friday, November 6.
