Manuel Adorni granted extension to explain assets to Argentine prosecutor
Argentine judicial authorities have extended the deadline for former Chief of Staff Manuel Adorni to respond to a fiscal inquiry regarding his assets. Adorni now has until September 22 to answer 20 questions posed by prosecutor Gerardo Pollicita.
The investigation focuses on potential inconsistencies in Adorni’s wealth increase between his appointment in December 2023 and his departure in June. Records indicate that Adorni and his partner, Bettina Angeletti, reported incomes of $229.7 million pesos, while their expenses totaled $272.8 million pesos. Additionally, expenditures of approximately US$ 402,578 related to real estate, renovations, and furniture have not been reconciled with documented lawful income.
The case is overseen by federal judge Ariel Lijo. Depending on the sufficiency of the forthcoming documentation, Adorni and his spouse could be summoned for formal indictment.
