Manuel Adorni Bitcoin wallets undergo forensic analysis in enrichment probe
Argentine authorities have begun technical forensic analysis on eight Bitcoin wallets belonging to former Chief of Staff Manuel Adorni. The investigation, led by prosecutor Gerardo Pollicita, is part of an inquiry into alleged illicit enrichment.
Adorni’s defense team provided the private keys and access to the wallets, allowing the Federal Police's Anti-Mafia Department to perform a cryptographic verification. This process confirmed that the defense currently holds control over the accounts, but the investigation must now determine if Adorni was the actual operator of these wallets between 2014 and 2018.
Adorni claims the approximately US$ 591,544 in undeclared assets resulted from Bitcoin sales conducted years prior to his public service. To verify this, the prosecution has requested a 29-point technical report from the Federal Police Cybercrime Department. Additionally, Judge Ariel Lijo has ordered the lifting of tax secrecy for both Adorni and his wife, Bettina Angeletti, to trace their wealth evolution.
