Manuel Escribano recovers after losing ear lobe in Huelva bullring accident

Bullfighter Manuel Escribano was seriously injured on 31 July when a Miura bull gored him at the Plaza de Toros de La Merced in Huelva, tearing the lower half of his left ear lobe. He was taken to the on‑site infirmary where Dr. Domingo Jiménez performed a surgical cleaning, hemostasis and plastic reconstruction with about twenty sutures.

Escribano, accompanied by his partner, model Laura Sánchez, and his nephew, has been released from the hospital and is recuperating in the field. He has expressed a desire to return to the arena as soon as his wound heals, despite the visible bandage.

The incident occurred during the Feria de las Colombinas, marking the first appearance of the Miura herd in Huelva after more than fifty years.
