Manufacturing Africa programme mobilizes $630m in Nigeria
The UK government-backed Manufacturing Africa programme has mobilized over $630 million in investment for 23 Nigerian businesses over the past six years. This initiative has supported the creation or safeguarding of more than 21,400 direct jobs in the country.
During a recent event in Lagos attended by British High Commissioner Pete Vowles and British Deputy High Commissioner Jonny Baxter, the programme’s impact on Nigeria’s investment ecosystem was highlighted. Rather than providing direct capital, Manufacturing Africa focuses on strengthening investor readiness, connecting high-potential businesses with capital sources, and assisting through the fundraising and deal completion processes.
The event also marked the launch of a new Fundraising Toolkit, a free digital resource designed to help Nigerian businesses attract capital, secure investment, and scale their operations for growth.
