Manzanillo former mayor acknowledges 27 million peso pension debt

Rosa María Bayardo Cabrera, the former mayor of Manzanillo, has acknowledged administrative issues regarding unpaid contributions to the Colima State Public Servants Pension Institute (Ipecol). The debt is reported to be approximately 27 million pesos.

Bayardo did not specify the origin of the liability or provide a timeline for liquidation. However, she expressed confidence that the current municipal administration and its financial team will resolve the outstanding payments. The issue surfaced following reports that the Manzanillo City Council transitioned from being current on its obligations to accumulating significant debt during Bayardo's term.
