Mar del Plata: Thiago Vera discharged after 67-day hospital stay

Thiago Vera, a 19-year-old who was critically injured in a bus accident in Mar del Plata, has been discharged from the hospital to continue his recovery at home. He spent 67 days hospitalized, including 50 days in intensive care following the incident on June 22.

The accident occurred when a line 532 bus lost control, mounted the sidewalk near a skatepark, and struck several pedestrians. The tragedy resulted in the death of 18-year-old Guadalupe Merlos and left six others injured.

While Vera has shown significant neurological and physical improvement, including the ability to speak more fluently and practice walking, his recovery remains ongoing. He is scheduled to undergo at least two major surgeries: one on his femur and another on his head. His family noted that the recovery process will be extensive and highlighted the community support they received during this period.
