María Corina Machado to return to Venezuela following deadly earthquakes

Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado has announced her intention to return to Venezuela to support citizens affected by a devastating double earthquake. The natural disaster has resulted in more than 1,400 deaths and over 3,000 injuries.

Machado, the national coordinator of Vente Venezuela, stated that her priority is to assist those impacted by the humanitarian emergency. She expressed a sense of duty to stand with the people during this period of mourning and crisis.

Previous attempts to enter the country via Curaçao with private security were reportedly halted by the United States administration. Washington expressed concerns that an unauthorized entry without a valid passport or government permission could trigger confrontations with state security forces, potentially complicating international rescue efforts.
