Maracaibo announces festivities for 60th Feria de la Chinita
Maracaibo has announced the start of its festive season, highlighted by the ‘Maracaibo Elige la Gaita del Año 2026’ festival and the upcoming 60th anniversary of the Feria Internacional de la Chinita.
Mayor Gian Carlo Di Martino confirmed that the traditional lighting of Avenida Bella Vista will take place, covering more than 33 blocks from Plaza El Ángel to the central district. This year, the illumination will be implemented under strict energy-saving and resource efficiency criteria.
The festivities are part of the religious and cultural celebrations in honor of the Virgin of Chiquinquirá. Governor Luis Caldera has formed an expanded team to manage the protocol for the fair, with further details regarding security, transport, and logistics expected to be released soon.
