Maranhão government establishes transition commission for incoming administration
The Maranhão state government has officially established its Republican Transition Commission and designated members for the Central Transition Nucleus. This process is designed to allow the incoming governor, Eduardo Braide, to understand the functioning of state administrative bodies and prepare for the new administration.
The transition commission, coordinated by Anna Caroline Marques Pinheiro Salgado, is tasked with requesting information from various state entities. Members of this commission will serve without remuneration and are required to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive data. The Central Transition Nucleus, composed of 12 members including various state secretaries, will manage the administrative organization of the process.
Under state regulations, the current administration led by Carlos Brandão has until October 30 to deliver essential documentation to the incoming team. This information includes state bank balances, debt statements, credit operations, ongoing construction contracts, and updated budget data. State agencies are required to submit these documents to the General Secretariat of the Governorship within ten days of the commission's formation.
