Orleans Brandão leads Maranhão gubernatorial race in polls

Orleans Brandão (MDB) is gaining significant momentum in the Maranhão gubernatorial race. According to an IP Sensus poll conducted in Imperatriz, Brandão leads with 49.7% of the intended votes in a stimulated scenario, followed by Eduardo Braide (PSD) at 26.6%. In the same municipality, Brandão holds 55% of valid votes compared to Braide's 29.4%.

Political support for Brandão is also expanding among local leaders. A survey of the 217 mayors in Maranhão indicates that 174 have expressed public support for Brandão via social media, representing approximately 80.2% of the group. In contrast, Eduardo Braide has the support of 21 mayors, or roughly 9.2%.

Brandão has recently strengthened his presence in the state's Central Region, securing endorsements from political and community leaders in Governador Eugênio Barros, including the mayor and various council members. He has pledged to increase investments in the region, including projects for water treatment and urban development.
