Maranhão sees major pre‑candidate rallies for Júnior Viana and Vinícius Ferro

On July 12, pre‑candidate for state deputy Júnior Viana attended the traditional Concurso das Quebradeiras de Coco Babaçu in Governador Archer, praising the cultural heritage and the role of women in the coconut‑breaking tradition that sustains many families.

Four days later, on July 16, Vinícius Ferro launched his pre‑campaign for federal deputy in São José de Ribamar. Thousands of residents, local councilors and community leaders gathered, highlighting Ferro’s past work in state health administration, food‑security programs and infrastructure projects. Both events underscored growing political mobilization ahead of upcoming elections in Maranhão.
