Marantz launches Model 70 amplifier and CD 70 player

Marantz has introduced two new entry‑level hi‑fi components, the Model 70 integrated amplifier and the CD 70 CD player, building on the earlier PM6007 and CD6007 models. The Model 70 delivers 50 W per channel with a current‑feedback Class A/B design, an upgraded power supply, larger toroidal transformer, a high‑performance DAC and Marantz’s proprietary HDAM circuitry. It includes an MM phono stage, HDMI ARC, expanded Bluetooth (aptX Adaptive, aptX HD, AAC, SBC) and a full set of analogue and digital inputs, plus pre‑out and subwoofer outputs. The CD 70 shares the same DAC and HDAM tech, adds a front‑panel USB‑A for high‑resolution files (FLAC HD, ALAC, AIFF, DSD), an upgraded power supply, double‑layer chassis, isolation feet and copper hardware, and features a discrete headphone amp with gain control and automatic detection. Both units are available in black and silver‑gold finishes. They go on sale on 15 August 2026; the Model 70 is priced at €850 (£749) and is not sold in North America, while the CD 70 retails for $750 (≈€600/£499) and is available in North America. Lyle Smith, President of Sound United brands at HARMAN, said, “Model 70 and CD 70 perfectly capture what Marantz stands for today.” The products are packaged with FSC‑certified, low‑plastic materials.
