Marc Casadó joins Deportivo after complex transfer negotiations

Marc Casadó has completed a transfer to Deportivo following a complex negotiation period. The 22-year-old midfielder sought a move after being excluded from Hansi Flick’s plans at FC Barcelona.

Several transfer options were explored, including interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia and Turkey, as well as a potential move to Bayer Leverkusen. Negotiations with the German side stalled due to disagreements over the transfer fee, which Barcelona initially set at 40 million euros before lowering the demand to 20 million euros. The Leverkusen deal ultimately failed to materialize following the decision not to sign Robert Andrich.

Other Spanish clubs, including Real Betis and Elche, also expressed interest in the player through various channels before the move to Deportivo was finalized.
