On 7 July Casadó again reiterated his conversation with Flick and his desire to stay, while Stade Rennais continued to monitor the situation; Barcelona announced it would wait for pre‑season performances before making any decision.

By 28 July coach Hansi Flick indicated Barcelona were willing to consider offers up to €40 million for Casadó, citing Financial Fair Play benefits. Agent Jorge Mendes met club president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco to discuss a possible transfer, while Barcelona also pursued 19‑year‑old left‑back Jorge Salinas for a separate fee.

No definitive deal has been confirmed, and the club’s next move will depend on pre‑season outcomes and the attractiveness of forthcoming bids.
