Yan Couto to join Italian club Como on loan
Brazilian right‑back Yan Couto, 24, has struggled to make an impact since Borussia Dortmund activated a compulsory purchase clause in 2025, paying €20 million after an initial €5 million loan fee. His market value has dropped from €25 million in June 2024 to about €17 million, and his €5 million‑a‑year salary has been deemed excessive for his performances.
Dortmund are now close to completing a loan move for Couto to Serie A side Como 1907, with a reported loan fee of €2 million and an option for Como to buy the player for roughly €20 million. The deal follows earlier negotiations that stalled in July over financial terms but have now been resolved. The transfer would free up Dortmund’s wage bill, and the club has identified Eintracht Frankfurt full‑back Elias Baum, 20, as a possible replacement, although Frankfurt coach Adi Hütter has said the club intends to keep Baum.
