Marche disability housing projects receive funding push
In the province of Ascoli Piceno, the foresteria at Colle San Marco, abandoned for more than two decades, is being renovated as part of a broader plan to create an inter‑generational park for seniors, children and people with disabilities. The project, backed by the province, the Dai cooperative and the Diversamente Onlus association, was approved with a €3 million grant, but the operators say an additional €2.6 million is still required and have appealed to the Special Reconstruction Office for earthquake‑damaged areas for further support.
In nearby Serra de’ Conti, the newly built “Casa Perticaroli” for residents with disabilities was inaugurated after just ten months of construction. The ceremony was attended by the minister for disability affairs, regional and provincial officials, the mayor and representatives of charities and businesses that contributed land, funding and management. The centre, named after a late local resident, aims to provide autonomous living and social integration for its occupants.
