Marche Region allocates over 2 million euros to fishing and aquaculture
The Marche Region has announced the 'Bando Unico Pesca' for 2026, allocating over 2 million euros to support the development, modernization, and competitiveness of the regional fishing and aquaculture sectors. The funding, totaling exactly 2,035,000 euros, is expected to increase following future reprogramming based on industry requests.
The initiative includes four primary measures: modernizing the fishing fleet and its technological equipment for safety; improving engine efficiency to reduce emissions and fuel consumption; supporting sustainable aquaculture through the creation or upgrading of land and sea-based facilities; and promoting local maritime identity through local government initiatives.
Additionally, the region has allocated over 6 million euros to assist fishermen facing high diesel costs. Applications for the 2026 measures must be submitted by December 15, 2026, via a new fully digitalized platform for applications and expense reporting.
