Marche Region fishing and aquaculture support
Overview
The Marche Region has initiated several measures to support its maritime and aquatic sectors. In October 2026, the region announced the ‘Bando Unico Pesca’, allocating 2,035,000 euros to modernize the fishing fleet, improve engine efficiency, and support sustainable aquaculture. This initiative is accompanied by over 6 million euros intended to assist fishermen with high diesel costs.
Simultaneously, restoration works are progressing at the Regional Fish Center in Cantiano. Following flood damage, the facility is being upgraded with new perimeter walls, tanks, and water treatment systems to serve as an advanced center for aquatic biodiversity protection. Once completed, the center will focus on the production and protection of the Mediterranean trout, with management expected to transition to Fipsas next year.
