Marcin Horała elected Vice-Marshal of the Sejm

Marcin Horała, representing the Rozwój Plus club, has been elected as the new Vice-Marshal of the Sejm. In a vote held on September 18, 2026, Horała secured 254 votes, defeating the Law and Justice (PiS) candidate, Marcin Ociepa, who received 167 votes. The election involved 428 deputies, with an absolute majority requirement of 215 votes.

The result is viewed as a significant political shift, signaling a fracture within the former United Right coalition and a loss of influence for the PiS leadership. Following his election, Horała stated that his priority would be enhancing parliamentary control over the government and ensuring rigorous debate regarding state decisions.

As Vice-Marshal, Horała's gross monthly compensation is estimated to be approximately 19,778.40 PLN, consisting of a base salary and a functional allowance.
