Marco De Falco, Viterbo teacher and diver, dies in Sicily
Marco De Falco, a 62-year-old diving instructor and physical education teacher from Viterbo, died following a medical emergency in Favignana, Sicily. The incident occurred on the morning of September 8 after De Falco completed a dive.
While on a diving boat, De Falco suffered what is believed to be a heart attack. His companions attempted to perform CPR while heading toward the Punta Longa harbor. Upon arrival, medical personnel and a hyperbaric chamber specialist attempted resuscitation efforts, including intubation, for approximately one hour. Despite these efforts, he was pronounced dead at the local health facility.
De Falco was well-known in his community for his work at Liceo Santa Rosa and his role as an instructor at the Blue & Blue Diver Club. His passing has drawn significant mourning from former students and colleagues in Viterbo.
