Marcos Pereda challenges Nicolás Pino for Sociedad Rural Argentina presidency

Marcos Pereda, the current Vice President of the Sociedad Rural Argentina (SRA), has announced his candidacy for President under the Renovación con Unidad ticket. Running alongside Santos Zuberbuhler as Vice President, Pereda is challenging the leadership of incumbent Nicolás Pino.

Pereda has criticized the possibility of Pino seeking a fourth or fifth term, arguing that such a move would violate the organization's statutes, which mandate a maximum of three consecutive terms. Pereda stated that “it is not good for an institution to be under the same leadership for 10 years” and characterized the pursuit of indefinite power as “nefarious for institutions.”

The election is scheduled for September 9, with members able to cast their votes through an electronic system. The Renovación con Unidad platform proposes a more professional and modern administration focused on increased member participation, strengthened commissions, and the integration of new technology.
