Marcos Pereda pushes renewal of Sociedad Rural Argentina leadership

Marcos Pereda, vice‑president of the Sociedad Rural Argentina (SRA) and head of the opposition list “Renovación con Unidad”, said the institution needs urgent leadership renewal to avoid stagnation. He criticised the current president, Nicolás Pino, for serving four consecutive terms and highlighted failures in the SRA’s genealogical records, calling for modernisation and broader federal representation of producers from all provinces. Pereda also urged the removal of agricultural tax burdens and improvements to national logistics infrastructure ahead of the September SRA elections.

Carlos Romero Feris, a Corrientes rural leader and candidate for an SRA board seat on the same list, echoed the call for federalism and alternation. He argued that the current leadership is too centred on Buenos Aires, stressed the need to lower taxes, and demanded better infrastructure for producers facing droughts and floods. Both figures presented “Renovación con Unidad” as a nationwide, federal alternative to the incumbent administration.
