Marfin arson suspect's lawyer urges stop to personal data leaks
A 46‑year‑old woman accused of the deadly arson at a Marfin bank branch is set to be extradited from the United Kingdom to Greece. Her lawyer, Kostas Papadakis, says she has already agreed to return and will be represented once she arrives in Athens.
Papadakis alleges that the suspect’s name, photographs and family details are being published without legal basis, violating her right to privacy and the presumption of innocence. He announces the formation of a legal team to sue anyone who disseminates her personal data and condemns government officials for making public statements that he says interfere with the judicial process. The lawyer calls on media outlets and online users to remove the material immediately.
