Margarita Island residents see water return after six-month drought
Residents of Margarita Island, specifically in the La Guardia sector, have celebrated the return of piped water after a six-month drought. The restoration began progressively in the Tubores and Díaz municipalities.
Local authorities attributed the previous shortage to complications within the Turimiquire system, stating that the reactivation was achieved through pipe pressurization and purging efforts. Despite the return of the service, residents report that the supply remains irregular, leading to ongoing uncertainty regarding future stability. During the drought, citizens were forced to rely exclusively on water trucks to meet basic needs, a situation that has significantly impacted both daily routines and local productive sectors.
