Maria Karystianou unveils Hope for Democracy platform, rejects ND, Tsipras

Maria Karystianou, the leader of the new Greek political movement "Hope for Democracy," held a press conference at the Kalamata town hall. She said the movement's political program is almost finished and will be released when the timing is right. Karystianou highlighted inflation as a major issue for households, pointing to the gap between producer prices and consumer costs, and promised concrete measures to address wages and price stability.

She ruled out any cooperation with the New Democracy party or the party of former prime minister Alexis Tsipras, stating that her movement's principles of transparency and meritocracy preclude such alliances. Karystianou also speculated that national elections could be held in the autumn (September‑October) and praised Kalamata mayor Thanasios Vasilopoulos for his active support of the city.
