Maria Zakharova says US has chance for more effective dialogue with Russia
Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for Russia’s Foreign Ministry, said Moscow is ready to continue the negotiations with Washington that began at the summit in Ankara. She noted that both sides have all the possibilities to intensify dialogue and that no party has refused to engage. Zakharova added that the United States is heavily focused on the Middle East, particularly on Iran, but that Russian‑American contacts continue on a limited basis. She recalled a telephone conversation on 25 May between the foreign ministers of the two countries, during which issues concerning Ukraine and other topics were discussed. “I would like this dialogue to be more intensive and efficient – all possibilities exist,” she told TASS.
The statement reflects ongoing diplomatic efforts to revive US‑Russia communication despite broader geopolitical tensions.
