Marian processions draw crowds in Catanzaro and Giovinazzo, Italy

In Catanzaro, a large gathering welcomed the original painting of the Madonna di Porto, which will remain on display at the Basilica dell’Immacolata until the following afternoon. The procession moved from the San Giovanni complex through the city centre, with participants carrying the sacred image while singing and applauding, reflecting a deep sense of communal devotion.

Meanwhile, in Giovinazzo, the annual procession of the Madonna delle Grazie took place on Sunday evening after a Mass at the Concattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta. Due to construction work, the route was altered to pass through several city streets, ending with a fireworks display on the Levante pier and a lottery draw in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II.
