Marianne von Gierke, Chilean bodybuilder, dies at 40

Chilean professional bodybuilder and lawyer Marianne von Gierke has died at the age of 40. Her passing was confirmed by NPC Chile, the national division of the National Physique Committee.

Von Gierke was a prominent figure in the international fitness community, having recently competed in the 2026 Mr. Olympia in Las Vegas, where she placed 13th in the Women’s Physique category. Earlier in 2026, she also secured a title at the Rising Phoenix World Championship.

Reports indicate she was admitted to a clinic in Punta Arenas, Chile, after experiencing a medical emergency, but medical efforts to reanimate her were unsuccessful. While some reports suggest a possible sudden death, the official cause of death has not yet been released. She is survived by her 11-year-old son.
