Chilean professional bodybuilder, lawyer, and coach Marianne von Gierke has died at the age of 40.
Reports indicate that von Gierke experienced a medical emergency in Punta Arenas, Chile, on the night of Tuesday, October 13, 2026. She was transported to the emergency ward at Clínica RedSalud Magallanes by her husband, but medical personnel were unable to revive her despite performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
A prominent figure in the international fitness community, von Gierke was the first Chilean woman to compete in the Women’s Physique Pro category at Mr. Olympia. Her recent career achievements included a 13th-place finish at the 2026 Mr. Olympia in Las Vegas and a title at the Rising Phoenix World Championship. She also held titles from the Mr. Olympia Amateur events in 2020 and 2021, as well as the Arizona Pro.
