Security forces in Aden, Yemen, have thwarted a major plot aimed at targeting military and security personnel, as well as vital infrastructure. During a coordinated operation involving Dar Saad and Kabota police, authorities arrested a suspect identified as Walid Saleh Ahmed Saleh.

Upon his arrest, police seized an explosive device and related materials. Investigations revealed that the suspect had received the explosives through a contact named Mamoun al-Zajr in the Sabr area of Lahj. The suspect reportedly intended to use the device against a military force on a main road in exchange for a vehicle and a cash payment.

Further interrogation uncovered a broader conspiracy. The suspect was in possession of a list of names of military leaders and officers targeted for assassination. The plot also allegedly included plans to use drones to attack government and security headquarters. Authorities also discovered information regarding other explosive devices that had reportedly been transported from Sana'a approximately one year ago.
