Marib military operations shift to offensive against Houthi militias

Major General Mansour Thawaba, commander of Yemen’s Third Military Region, stated that military operations in Marib have shifted from a defensive posture to an offensive one aimed at reclaiming territories held by Houthi militias and restoring state institutions.

Thawaba reported that government forces successfully repelled recent Houthi attacks south of Marib, resulting in significant casualties and equipment losses for the militia. He noted that many Houthi fighters were left behind in combat zones without medical evacuation. He emphasized that government forces are operating under a unified command and a joint operations room, highlighting high levels of coordination between land and air forces.

In separate developments, the ‘Shield of the Nation’ government forces announced the downing of a Houthi drone near the Bab al-Mandab strait in the Kahbub front. Additionally, the Yemeni Air Force conducted strikes in Al Bayda province, targeting Houthi missile launch platforms, communication systems, and weapons depots.
