Regional infrastructure and environmental projects advance across Europe
Various regional infrastructure, housing, and environmental projects are entering new phases across Central and Southeast Europe.
In Croatia, a strategic water management project in the Slavonski Brod region, valued at 120.2 million euros, has secured contracts to expand sewage and water supply networks for several municipalities. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Tuzla Canton has signed contracts worth over 9 million KM to improve water supply in five municipalities through the ‘Water for All’ program.
In Slovenia, Nova Gorica is launching its largest housing investment in 40 years, with plans for at least 510 rental units at Majske poljane. Additionally, Gen Energija is progressing with the JEK 2 nuclear power plant project, aiming for a decision on the second block by late 2028. Environmental efforts include the ‘ŽivoLjuB’ project in the Ljubljana Marshes, an 8.8 million euro initiative to restore habitats for endangered species.
Other notable developments include a 4 million euro renovation of a cultural center in Bratislava, Slovakia, and infrastructure repairs in Novo mesto, Slovenia, including a bridge reconstruction and student housing projects.
