Marilyn Cote to remain in prison despite victim pardons

Marilyn Cote will remain in prison despite six victims granting her legal pardon following reparatory agreements. The Attorney General of Puebla, Idamis Pastor Betancourt, confirmed that while these pardons extinguish criminal action for those specific cases, they do not nullify other active investigations.

Currently, there are at least two judicialized investigation files involving approximately five other victims who continue to seek legal action. The charges against Cote include professional usurpation, falsification of official documents, and the illegal prescription of controlled medications.

In addition to state-level charges in Puebla, Cote faces federal proceedings regarding the alteration and use of official documentation from health and educational institutions. She remains in preventive detention at the Ciudad Serdán Women's Penitentiary while the legal processes continue.
