Marina di Alassio port earns Blue Flag and launches special‑waste and oil recycling initiative

The Marina di Alassio’s Luca Ferrari port, which has held the European Blue Flag since 2006, has joined the “Stop Food Oils and Fats in the Sea” campaign. Since 2013 the harbour operates an Olivia station to collect used cooking oil, and it now promotes the proper disposal of other special waste such as batteries and mineral oils.

Located in the heart of the Pelagos Marine Sanctuary, the port works with local diving and whale‑watching operators to protect cetacean habitats. Municipal assessor for Participated Companies Patrizia Mordente said, “Our municipally‑owned Marina di Alassio confirms once again its concrete commitment to marine environmental protection through this initiative of great value, which helps sensitize citizens and boaters to responsible and sustainable behaviour.”
