Marina di Cecina hosts inclusion and biodiversity event
More than 50 participants took part in the Tuscan stage of the “Un Mare di Inclusione – Ogni goccia conta” project at Marina di Cecina. Promoted by Ambiente Mare Italia (AMI), the national initiative aims to provide people with disabilities with opportunities for well-being and social connection through direct contact with nature.
Participants, including athletes from ASD Efesto and members of APS “6 il mio amico speciale,” explored the coastal environment alongside volunteers and biologists from TartAmare. A key highlight of the day was learning about marine turtles, including visits to coastal areas where turtles have laid eggs during the year to understand their life cycles and nesting needs.
The experience included sensory activities in the coastal pine forest and featured interactions with animals, such as ponies and a greyhound, led by ASD Helios operators. Cecina Mayor Lia Burgalassi attended the event to represent the local administration and express gratitude to the participating organizations.
