Marina di Gioiosa Jonica and Pinerolo unveil upgraded public service facilities in Italy
Poste Italiane reopened the Marina di Gioiosa Jonica post office on 13 June after a complete renovation under the Polis programme. The modernised branch now offers low‑impact lighting, a lowered service counter for the visually impaired and a range of public‑administration services, including passport issuance, INPS certificates and pension statements.
In Pinerolo, the Consorzio Intercomunale dei Servizi Sociali (CISS) inaugurated a new headquarters on 10 June. The €1.2 million centre consolidates the consortium’s offices with the municipal Housing and Social‑Policy divisions, creating a “house of the social” that provides meeting rooms, family support spaces and improved accessibility. Mayor Luca Salvai said, “This is a place where we have given dignity to poverty and fragility.” The facility aims to strengthen local social‑service delivery for the 47 municipalities that belong to the consortium.
