Marine Atlan film La Gradiva to release in Italy

Marine Atlan’s debut film, La Gradiva, is scheduled for release in Italian cinemas on November 12, 2026. Distributed by Fandango, the film follows a French high school class on a school trip to Naples, Pompeii, and Torre del Greco.

Atlan, who serves as director, screenwriter, and cinematographer, utilizes a non-professional cast of seven young actors. The production involved five months of research within a suburban high school, blending documentary elements with fiction through improvisation. The narrative explores themes of adolescence, political identity, and historical memory, contrasting the living, moving nature of Naples with the stillness of Pompeii.

The film has already gained critical recognition, winning the Grand Prix Ami Paris at the 65th Semaine de la Critique in Cannes. It has also been featured at the Rome Film Fest and Alice nella Città.
