Marine conservation and emergency response efforts in Mexico and Argentina

In Mexico, the Secretaría de Marina and the Seventh Naval Zone provided security for a sea turtle release at the Playa Bonita camp in Campeche. Working with the environmental group PROFAUNA A. C., naval personnel assisted volunteers in releasing 55 newly hatched sea turtles into the ocean. The operation included surveillance to protect the hatchlings from natural predators and illegal trafficking. The Seventh Naval Zone stated it will continue land and sea patrols in nesting areas to strengthen species protection during the reproductive season.

In Argentina, the Volunteer Firefighters of Isla del Cerrito have incorporated a new airboat to enhance emergency response capabilities. The unit is designed for rescues and transfers in shallow, flooded, or heavily vegetated areas where conventional boats struggle. Provincial authorities, including Chaco's Minister of Government Carim Peche, participated in a technical demonstration of the equipment in the Negro River. The acquisition aims to improve safety during the upcoming XXII International Dorado Fishing Tournament and prepare for potential water-related emergencies linked to the El Niño phenomenon.
