Marine Le Pen leads French presidential polls

Recent polling for the French presidential election indicates that Marine Le Pen, leader of the National Rally, holds a significant lead over all other candidates. In various polling scenarios for the first round, Le Pen is projected to secure between 35% and 38% of the vote.

Jean-Luc Mélenchon, leader of the left-wing La France Insoumise, follows in popularity, typically polling between 16% and 17%. In scenarios where centrist figures such as Gabriel Attal or former President François Hollande do not participate, other candidates may compete for the second-place position.

In response to Le Pen’s polling strength, European Parliament member Raphaël Glucksmann has announced his candidacy. Glucksmann, leader of Place Publique, intends to participate in the Socialist Party’s October primaries to challenge Mélenchon and attempt to unify moderate left-wing forces. While critical of certain aspects of Emmanuel Macron’s presidency, Glucksmann maintains a pro-European and pro-Ukrainian stance.
