Marine Le Pen leads 2027 French presidential polls
Marine Le Pen, leader of the National Rally, has officially launched her campaign for the 2027 French presidential election. A recent poll by Toluna Harris Interactive, conducted between September 8 and 10, shows Le Pen leading the race with a projected 33% to 36% of the vote in the first round.
Jean-Luc Mélenchon of La France Insoumise is projected to follow in most scenarios, potentially reaching the second round in at least three out of five tested scenarios with 15.5% to 17% of the vote. Projections suggest Le Pen would win a second-round runoff against Mélenchon by a comfortable margin. Former Prime Minister Édouard Philippe is noted as the only center-right candidate capable of competing with or surpassing Mélenchon in certain scenarios.
Le Pen’s platform emphasizes ‘national preference,’ promising priority access to social housing, state aid, and medical care for French citizens. She also pledged to lower the retirement age back to 62 and reduce taxes on essential utilities. The political landscape is increasingly polarized as the era of Emmanuel Macron draws to a close, leaving a weakened political center and a struggling economy.
